Team LSM

Perhaps the sports analogies are a bit over-used, but the team concept is really the best way to describe our operation: A group of highly dedicated individuals working together in harmony for a single, common goal - to delivery the highest quality machined product to our customer, on-time, defect-free and at the best value possible.

The management team at LSM has worked together for an average of 17+ years. The most tenured has been here for 20+ years; the least tenured as been with us for 15+ years. It is that kind of dedication that we can bring to your supply chain. We are in business for the long haul, and we are read to serve you.

We have a certified 6 Sigma Green Belt on staff and another candidate in-training. We also have 2 certified auditors on staff for internal audits, commercial grade dedication, and training.

Our core staff:

DJ Olson - President

Tony Skendzel - Vice President Production & Engineering

Kevin Pate - Quality Assurance Manager

Quality
"... represents the wise choice of many alternatives."

Quality cannot simply be created by a document, the paperwork is only a description of the activity. True quality requires a commitment to fostering the culture and environment necessary for success. Quality Assurance should not use a billy-club to correct behavior. Rather, QA should offer an avenue of learning, an opportunity for improvement. Employees should not be scared to make another mistake, fear has no part in the recipe for success.

It is this thinking that has helped LSM create such a strong QA program. Our employees enjoy a learning environment and this helps to greatly further their success. Their success in this program is realized throughout our organization and it really shows in the end product.

Our quality goal is nothing short of perfection. Zero escaping defects. Some industry 'experts' say that setting this high of a goal will create nothing more than failure. "After all, perfection is not truly attainable. Lower your standards and make your goals more achievable." Lower our standards? No, we will not lower our standards to create the perception that we are successful.

Zero escaping defects is our goal and will remain so.

Utilizing 6 Sigma methodology, LSM management and staff examine every process for possible improvement. Countless projects have been completed since we first implemented the program. Cost of quality has been greatly reduced and customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Lean methods play an integral role in our organization as well. Using these methods and ideals, we routinely analyze our processes for non-value adding activities and eliminate the waste. This helps us maintain a healthy organization and provides our customer the greatest value possible.

Most of our calibration activities are completed in-house, save the the items requiring a degree of accuracy or traceability that we need to sub-contract. All sub-contracted calibration services are approved through commercial grade dedication and are directly traceable to NIST standards.
